The ClicSite is working with the Town of Three Hills to establish local geocaching routes to promote places of interest, historic sites and local attractions.  The Town's Economic Growth Committee hopes to engage the Canadian Badlands Ltd. and establish more geocaches along their regional touring routes.

Board Members Meet Remotely

 

When the board of Blue Bronna Wilderness Camp meet, they meet at the Three Hills ClicSite and the Longview, Library. Saving hours of travel, the board is able to meet virtually face to face, sharing all documents necessary for the meeting.

Three Hills Trochu elected officials meet with professional via video conference

Distance is Not a Barrier

 

When officials from Three Hills and Trochu needed to meet with an Edmonton firm, Three Hills CAO Jack Ramsden suggested the use of Video Conferencing at the Three Hills ClicSite. After the video conference, Jack stated that the virtual face to face meeting was trouble free and that this type of communication greatly saves the town in travel expenses.

Dinosaurs in the Library

 

Over 40 children packed the Three Hills Public Library to view live interactive video conference programs from the ATCO Distance Learning Centre at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta.  Three other library sites in Hinton, Hanna and Cold Lake joined the fun. The kids were amazed: "That guy on TV can see me?"

A class of entrepreneurs from the Three Hills school (along with community volunteers) have started a company using the Junior Achievement - Company Venture program. Once a week company meetings are held at the Three Hills ClicSite. Visit their web page here.

Geocaching

Local residents of the Three Hills area were invited to attend a Geocaching workshop to introduce people to the high tech global hide and seek game based on GPS technology.
