New Worlds For Women

 

"New Worlds For Women" is an eight-week life skills and workplace entry skills course based out of Medicine Hat College that was facilitated at the Three Hills ClicSite.

Four Day Online Course

 

When her own home computer proved inadequate, a young lady was able to take a four-day course on instructing Level 1 of Music for Young Children. Later she mentioned that it would have been possible to do this course at home with a new computer, but even then “…it would have been distracting…I was able to use a quiet, private room and I appreciated it very much.”

Live & Virtual Meetings

 

Members of Communities Without Boundaries had a planning meeting in Three Hills at the ClicSite.  When one of the members could not attend in person it due to scheduling, he was able to attend the meeting virtually from Edmonton.

"Boot It Up!" Camp

Kids from 9 - 16 years of age receive technical training at the popular ConocoPhillips "Boot It Up!" Camp held at the Three Hills ClicSite.  Participants were instructed in Digital Photography, Videography and Web Page Design.  Practicum included location filming at the Chateau Three Hills, and still photography used on the Chateau's new web site.

 
Small Business Seminars

Small Business Seminar

A young mom who is also an entrepreneur takes in an informative three-hour Small Business Seminar, with babe in arms. ClicSite staff helped out with spot babysitting duty!

 
Communities Without Boundaries

Province Wide Virtual Conference

More than 230 delegates attended a first-of-its-kind conference produced by the Communities Without Boundaries organization, and hosted completely by Video Conferencing. Live, interactive presentations were made from over 20 SuperNet-enabled sites like Three Hills, Cold Lake, Wainwright, Hanna, Grande Prairie, Olds, High Level, Hinton and Vulcan. Every delegate traveled less than an hour to attend.

How to Buy Your First Car

The Three Hills Municipal Library organized an afternoon seminar for students from the Three Hills Public School.  Local business people gave students information on loans, insurance costs, registration and so on - all things to consider when buying your first car.

Dr. Watanabe Addresses E-Health

Dr. Mamoru Watanabe is former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary, and an Officer of the Order of Canada. He addresses board members of the Kneehill Area Wellness Centres regarding the benefits of health services delivered in rural areas using Telehealth and E-Health applications made possible by broadband technologies.

Geocaching

Local residents of the Three Hills area were invited to attend a Geocaching workshop to introduce people to the high tech global hide and seek game based on GPS technology.

How to Install a Irrigation System

Raven Landscaping recently hosted a how-to seminar on installing an irrigation system.  The informative seminar was well received and plans are in the works for a repeat presentation in the future.
